I DON'T have coldfusion installed on my LOCAL machine what do i do!

After some pretty extensive research, I was able to find a good blog post about a similar subject...

The problem...

HERE IS A TUTORIAL

say you want to develop on a remote machine, say a mapped drive? or something along those lines... but when you go to create your flex project all you get is this error

"Invalid server root. Server root must contain a WEB-INF/flex folder."

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I'm not sure if this is technically correct or the downsides to this, all i know is that i couldn't even get started until this was done... Please take a look at the tutorial and follow the steps... if your having the same issue, and find a different way, or more proper way to fix it, please post a comment, and we can exchange links....

Axel,

Outstanding work. I can see now what your problem was. I was having trouble grasping it yesterday :)

This is a great find, but what if I also have the site hosted on a remote server?

I guess I am utterly confused on why Adobe didn't setup Flex Builder to work like DW does? Where I can work on the local files, but am able to setup a remote testing server. Then DW when I setup a datasource, it will pull in the database information, etc.

Am I basically being forced to install a local version of CF and also setup a local web server just for working in Flex Builder?

Axel,
In reality you should download cf and install it as a developer edition and this problem would be taken care of.
